Dr. Sonya Heitmann attended the University of California, Irvine where she earned a bachelor's degree in biology. She then received her medical degree from the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of California, Davis. After completing residency she worked as a primary care physician for Kaiser in Sacramento. She also enjoys teaching and became a clinical assistant professor for Drexel University. She is now an assistant clinical professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Her clinical interests include preventative care and diabetes.
