Sophie K. Dao, OD, is a full-service optometrist who partners with her patients in Milpitas, California, for better eye health. From routine eye care and prescription lenses to comprehensive care of diabetes and cataracts, Dr. Dao ensures that her patients see the world as clearly as possible.
Dr. Dao provides regular eye exams, as well as medical eye exams, which are great tools for detecting problems before they do any real vision damage. Dr. Dao is equipped with the latest tools to monitor and test your vision and eye health, as well as find the right prescription to help patients regain perfect vision. She also offers the latest frames and lenses at her practice, giving her patients a wide choice of fashionable eyewear.
In 1981, Dr. Dao graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a Bachelor of Science in Physiology. She went on to earn her doctorate in optometry at the same school in 1985. After earning her degree, Dr. Dao went into private practice in the greater Bay area.
Dr. Dao is a member of the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association, and the Santa Clara County Optometric Society.
In addition to her work at her practice, Dr. Dao has authored many articles in Vietnamese magazines and newspapers on eye health, eye diseases, contact lens modalities, and LASIK surgery.
Dr. Dao also works closely with Alcon, Inc., a pharmaceutical and research company that manufactures Restasis®, a prescription eye drop that helps produce tears. She is a speaker for the company, and she’s called upon to lend her expertise on eye allergies and dry eyes.
To serve a broad range of patients, Dr. Dao speaks English, Vietnamese, and clinical Spanish.
