Just a little reminder...
This is why the slow down and move over law is so important! Tow truck drivers are there to help when people break down or get into an accident. Everyone seems to be in a hurry to get somewhere nowadays, but it is important to remind ourselves, and others, to slow down and be cautious. It only takes one distraction to have you wreck the lives around you, maybe including your own, in situations like these. Tow truck drivers, police officers, firemen, EMT's, and construction crews are just a few of the people who put their lives at risk every day trying to help people but are also taking their own lives in hand when doing their jobs. So please be aware of your surroundings, don't allow yourself to be distracted by your cell phones, slow down when you see us out there, move over to the other lane if possible. You might just save a life, even your own! We send our condolences out to the families of the lives lost in this video. May they rest in peace. Mike Atchley August 30, 2015 at 6:28 PM · Here it is. New Jersey Office of Emergency Management May 17, 2018 at 8:33 PM · Turn Around, Don’t Drown! We are still in the midst of a rainy pattern that will last through early Saturday night that is being influenced by tropical moisture from an area of low pressure near the Gulf of Mexico. Some locations have already received 1-2 inches of rain, especially over the Poconos and just west of the I-95 Corridor. Another 2-4 inches is in the forecast for most of the area, with locally higher amounts through Saturday evening, especially south of I-195. Here are a few flood safety tips to follow: - Avoid areas subject to sudden flooding. - Even six inches of fast moving floodwater can knock you off your feet, and a depth of two feet will float your car! Never try to walk, bike or drive through flooded areas. Water may be deeper than you think! - Do not attempt to drive over a flooded road. Obey traffic barriers. STOP! Turn around and go another way. - Keep children from playing in floodwaters or near culverts and storm drains.
