We had an anniversary party for our residents who had or will have a major anniversary this year. Our oldest couple were celebrating their 79th anniversary.
It was a romantic afternoon enjoyed by all in attendance. Each couple danced to their favorite song. We raised a toast for their longevity, well being and happiness.
Everyone had adorned their mask, except for their pictures and maintained social distancing.

Thanksgiving Craft Ideas for Seniors | South Port Square
Our resident Charles Brox, was born in 1935 and by the time he was six years old he became aware that his grandfather had a barn of 100 cows, a milk processing plant and a garage to store and repair the trucks. This farm was located in Methuen, Massachusetts.
Charles put together a jigsaw puzzle and framed it in a wooden frame he created. He has put together a Brox farmhouse and hung it outside his apartment door. It takes him down memory lane.
Way to go Charlie!

Why We Were Awarded Best Nursing Home | South Port Square
Our resident Rodney, who is an avid woodcrafter, created several wooden artifacts for his family members keeping up with the family tradition. His wife Nancy always had an ornament for the tree for each family member at the thanksgiving table. So Rodney mailed all the wooden ornaments to his daughter Janine, to set at her thanksgiving table. Several ornaments represented the family members and their names were painted on them.
What a beautiful gesture and a pleasant surprise.
Rodney, you continue to amaze us!
Our resident Matie , celebrated her 100th birthday in style. First she started off with a zooom call with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren located all over the United States, then she had a very special celebration party with her friends at South Port Square and finally had a dinner with a few family members at the Punta Horda Isles Yacht Club. NormaJean painted Marie’s portrait, Wanda played all hat favorite songs, Marie’s daughter put together a down memory lane video and her son had sent mom a beautiful 100th birthday tiara. Happy Birthday Marie ! We are very proud of you and your amazing 100 years.🎈

Our resident Nancy joined in and got some baked peanut butter cookies which were enjoyed by all. They received the certificate of appreciation from Brian, our executive director along with other goodies.
