MicroPro Shield by Chem-Dry protects against microbes by applying a 90-day antimicrobial residual layer. This residual layer, provided by BIOPROTECT RTU, is a microscopic layer of spikes that continue to kill microbes like bacteria on contact, keeping surfaces protected for up to three months! When microbes like bacteria come into contact with the layer of spikes, the spikes mechanically kill them. The spikes pierce and rupture the microbe’s cell membrane, preventing microbes from mutating and adapting into superbugs. The MicroPro Shield process is sprayed using an electrostatic sprayer we call the AMP-360 to evenly spread the antimicrobial layer across entire surfaces, reaching far into hard-to-reach areas for an even 360-degree coverage.

What is electrostatic equipment?
Electrostatic sprayers utilize the science behind Coulomb’s law. Coulomb’s law states that opposite electrical charges attract and like charges repel. Electrostatic equipment works when a positive charge is applied to the solution coming out of the electrostatic sprayer. These positively charged droplets are attracted to the negatively charged surfaces but not to each other, keeping them from forming larger droplets. These small droplets seek out the negatively charged surfaces and wrap around them providing a full "360 degree" coverage. This type of wrap-around coverage is not possible with traditional sprayer systems. The result is a thin, even coating on all types of surfaces.
