As a fifth-generation artist, Dr. Nancy Urban has always been interested in symmetry and creating positive cosmetic improvement on faces. Orthodontics was the perfect area of study to accomplish this concept!
A native Long Islander, Dr. Urban loves diversity in her life. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from St. John’s University in Queens, NY. As a communications major, she enjoyed being part of all aspects of television production for WRED, including her role as an on-air anchor for “Eye of the Storm.”
While attending Stony Brook University’s School of Dental Medicine, for her Doctorate of Dental Surgery, Dr. Urban volunteered with the American Heart Association and the American Lung Association to promote an issue dear to her heart: Smoking prevention for youth. It was her mission to speak to young children about the problems caused by tobacco usage, including the effects it has upon oral health. Her education continued at Stony Brook University as she received her Certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.
Dr. Urban is a member of the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, and the Northeastern Society of Orthodontics, where she enjoys taking continuing education classes and learning the latest techniques in her field.
Dr. Urban’s favorite pastimes include spending time with her family and friends, singing, and painting pictures in pastel. Her passion for perfection, her love of the arts, and her desire to create beautiful smiles make orthodontics the perfect union for the creative and diverse nature of Dr. Urban.
