We have had many calls from clients asking about auto insurance premium refunds.
Most of the major companies are providing some sort of refund or credit for a percentage of your monthly premium.
The companies are offering the credit for April some for May as well.
They will reassess if the quarantine lasts for a longer period.
You do not have to call your agent or the insurance company to get it.
It will happen automatically and they will send you some sort of notification about it.
Also, if you are out of work and having trouble paying your premiums, you can call your insurance company’s billing department directly and explain the situation.
Many will allow you to defer or spread out your payments if you need to for a period of time. But the premium will still be owed for these months.
