Team work makes the dream work! A few weeks ago we had Bailey and 7 year old female Golden Retriever present to us after being diagnosed with hip dysplasia. After examination, she was a good candidate for a total hip replacement surgery. This procedure is very intricate and special care is taken to ensure that the surgery is done under strict aseptic conditions. Our board-certified surgeons Dr. Dixon and Dr. Steurer completed the surgery along with the help of Dr. Sullivan, Dr. French, and Dr. Fung. The surgery went well and Bailey is now resting and healing comfortably at home! For more information about total hip replacement surgery (THR) visit our website.

Happy Friday! Here is a adorable smiley Golden to start your weekend off right! This is Nala the 2 year old female Golden Retriever with Dr. French. She originally came to see us back in October of 2018 for a bilateral distal ulnar ostectomy procedure. We completed some recheck radiographs earlier this week, and she was noted to have continued bilateral carpal valgus deformities with palpable elbow thickening. It was recommended due to her condition to continue with conservative therapy. She is a cutie for sure and got so much love from Dr. French! ❤️

Do you know the difference between strains and sprains? They sound the same, but they mean different things. While in most cases they can be treated with medication and rest, a more serious injury like a CCL tear may require surgical intervention.

Say hello to this oh so adorable face that is Wally the 9 year old male Pug with his technician Somer. Wally came to see us because he had a mass in his inner ear. Because the mass was completely blocking the ear canal our surgeon recommended a TECA-BO also called a Total Ear Canal Ablation and Bulla Osteotomy. This is the process of removing the entire ear canal but the ear flap still remains in place. We're wishing Wally a speedy recovery!

Time to dance, its Friday! This is Tucker the 7 year old male Golden Retriever with his technician Heather. Tucker came in to see us for a consultation due to multiple masses on his body. We completed a fine needle aspirate and cytology of all three of his masses as well as took chest x-rays. Once we get a diagnosis back of the masses we can make a better judgment on Tuckers next medical steps. Doesn't he just look like the happiest boy!
It is common to think your dog has injured their muscles, ligaments or bones when they begin limping. But did you know that an injury can also cause increase swelling and pain in their joints. Here is a wonderful story to start your week! This is Banjo, the 6 year old male Labradoodle. His owners shared a video with us last week about his 1 year post-operative update. Banjo came to see us in November of 2019 on emergency due to bilateral pneumothorax and pulmonary bulla in the right cranial lung lobe. Pneumothorax is acclamation of air outside the lungs inside the chest wall. When this occurs, it prevents the lungs from inflating normally and can lead to lung collapse. Our surgeon completed a median sternal thoracotomy along with a right cranial lung lobectomy. As you can see from the video, Banjo has been doing great and is living life to the fullest. We are so happy to see that he is doing so well. The take away his owners hoped to share is that although a situation seems scary, have hope that things will turn out well! ❤️

Here is some sweetness to end your week! This is Auggie the 9 month old English Bulldog. He came in to see us on emergency at the beginning of the month due to a foreign body. The foreign body was attempted to be removed by scope but was unsuccessful so he immediately came to us to have it surgically removed. His incision has healed up and he is doing great. He even brought us some thank you cookies with his face on them. How stinking cute is that! Thanks Auggie 🥰

We're living the Pug life! This is Harlee the 11 year old female Pug with our intern Dr. Fung. Harlee came to see us a few weeks ago due to a mast cell tumor on her left forelimb. Our surgeon excised the mass and sent it out for a biopsy. We got the results back and it was a low grade MCT that we completely excised! She got her sutures removed today and she will not be needing any additional treatment. How Pug-tastic! ☺️
