2-day AR15 / M4 Rifle Certification Course
The Site Training Facility in Mount Carroll, Illinois will be hosting one of our make-up 2-day Introduction to the AR-15 / M-4 Rifle Certification Courses that was post-phoned due to COVID earlier this year.
We were able to squeeze in the make-up dates last minute and the class will be presented at The Site Training Facility on October 1 – 2, 2020.
We have student loaner rifles, slings and magazines available and plenty of 5.56 ammunition in stock for student purchase and use in this class.
This class is one week out, so if these dates work for you, I’ll need to hear from you ASAP so we can get you registered and locked in on the class roster for this class.

Our new Turtle cases, provided by Spartan Alumni Leonard C., are perfect for keeping our student loaner handguns and Simunition training handguns organized and safe during transport.
Leonard turned us on to Turtle media storage cases and I have found them to be as good as Pelican and Storm cases. If you transport several handguns at a time and are looking for a safe & secure transport option, these cases are definitely worth a look. Stay safe. – Krup
Another AWESOME training season at The Site Training Facility has come to an end and we couldn’t have asked for anything better than to finish up with good weather and a great group of students for our last class for the season there!
To keep everyone updated on the status of that facility; Jim Kauber has announced that The Site did not sell in 2020 and that he will be back again next year as the Operations Manager to oversee the 2021 training season.
Spartan Tactical has been invited back as one of the approved guest training groups and we are planning on running at least 10 – 12 outdoor training programs there again for 2021.
The Site is one of the best training facilities in the country and one of my favorite locations to run our outdoor training programs in the Midwest. If you haven’t attended one of our courses there yet, definitely plan on checking us out there next year! See you next season and stay safe. – Krup

One of the drills students perform in our Tactical Speed Shooting classes is the 6-shot split time reduction rhythm drill.
My instructor demo for this drill was at handgun combatives gunfight speed. Holster draw was 1.51 seconds from a Level 1 retention holster. Total time for all 12 shots fired with holster draw was 4.48 seconds.

Our last range day for November at the Illinois State Police – District 5 range was an instructor development day. Firearms instructors worked on coach / pupil techniques; refining weapon manipulation drills, free-style movement drills, cognitive processing drills, one hand shooting techniques and of course, refining accuracy.
My two favorite drills of the day to work the instructors on for speed and accuracy were the Spartan Tactical X-Box drill and Tom Givens Casino Drill.
I demo all of the drills prior to the instructors working them and set a new personal best record clean run of 15.10 on the Casino Drill. My best time prior to that was 16.23 clean.
In our version of the Casino Drill, we require that the slide is manually cycled forward with the support hand during the emergency reloads and apply a 1 second penalty if the shooter uses the slide catch to release the slide – per reload!
The Casino Drill is a great drill to work on speed, accuracy and proper weapon manipulation and it’s challenging & fun! Bring lots of Boo-Yats to the range if you plan on practicing this drill because it’s addicting as hell! Stay safe. – Krup

Evanston PD did a fantastic job in this police shooting incident that occurred on January 9, 2021.
We’ve spent a lot of time over the years working with officers and firearms instructor staff at Evanston PD, in the development and training of their patrol rifle program and almost the entire department uses our Ameriglo Spartan Operator sights installed on their duty and off-duty handguns as well.
It’s not often that we get to see our Spartan trained Alumni in action, and these guys did what they were trained to do in stopping this bad-guy before he could kill anyone else.
As we teach in our training programs; controlled Tactical Speed shooting and thumbs forward indexing will always win the day. Great job officers! Stay safe. – Krup

What is Kit compared to the Hand that wields it? Thulsa Doom had that shit right man. I know plenty of dudes that have no idea they are wearing last years tactical outfit, or that they're Aimpoint Pro is "lame". And they go out and do work every damn day with that shit.
Conversely, I listen to nerds tell me the name of the dude who was working the machine that made their new as fuck handguard, and may or may not be able to shoot that damn gun worth a shit.
There are alot of hard MFers out there that could lay waste to nations with an iron sighted FAL and 80's web gear. SOME of The current crop of weapon and gear snobs seem to have the notion that buying the newest-bestest, somehow makes them the bestest. Or knowing trivia shit about the item somehow makes them more deadly.
Deadly is a state of mind, equipment just supplements the man. So please, stop clowning on the dude with a Mini-14 and some mags in a saddle bag. He might just push your shit in. That's all I got on that.
