I am credentialed as a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM). A Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) is a knowledgeable, skilled and professional independent midwifery practitioner who has met the standards for certification set by the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) and is qualified to provide the Midwives Model of Care. The CPM is the only midwifery credential that requires knowledge about and experience in out-of-hospital settings. (www.narm.org)
I am also certified in CPR for the Healthcare Provider, Neonatal Resuscitation, Emergency Birth Skills trained, and am a National Registry Certified EMT-B.
I serve women both in the home, as a MIDWIFE, and in the hospital as a DOULA (Professional Labor Assistant). I also volunteer with the Care Center in Southaven, Mississippi, where I teach Childbirth Education Classes once a month. On occasion, I teach classes at my office in Olive Branch, Mississippi. I am a member in good standing with the Mississippi Midwives Association and the Midwives Alliance of North America. I regularly attend meetings with midwives in the Memphis, Tennessee area, as well as the midwives of Mississippi.
I AM NOT A DOCTOR OR NURSE
I help moms who have been affected by birth trauma. We work one on one to help overcome feelings of guilt, sadness, and loss of control over what may have happened to them in their past. I help families with their transition from a couple to a family, from one child to two and so on.
I combine my years of training, experience, and nudging from the Holy Spirit to guide me in your care. If you are delivering in the hospital or home, you can trust me in caring for you and your baby! Below you will find the standards in which I practice by.
