Don’t forget the floor!
Kids are comfortable on the floor, especially our younger kiddos. So if you have preschoolers or young elementary schoolers, set them up on or close to the floor.
Scroll through the pictures to see some of our favorites! This is not an all inclusive list, just meant to give you more ideas of seating options for virtual learning or engagement.
⭐️These pictures show a younger child, who may not be typing on keyboard but simply using the computer to watch teachers or friends.
⭐️These options are great for older kids as well, but adjustments to the keyboard may need to be made.
⭐️These seating positions can be great alternatives to W sitting as well

“Fight, flight, freeze... or fib?” What a valuable article describing the relationship between lying and “poor inhibition, emotional regulation, working memory, and attention.”

Story time! Try pausing at fun moments and make predictions about what will happen next! It’s a great way for kids to learn about story structure and really engage in the story.
Thank you Social Thinking for this new story about how the hidden rules have changed! What a great way to talk to our young students about social distancing in a way that addresses their questions about school, friendships, and family time.

FREE Download: Body in the Group/Out of the Group Thinksheets https://bit.ly/2yORqiO. New Hidden Rule: Body Out of the Group. Please NOTE: Body out of the Group is not available for sale. It was created specifically to help our community during this pandemic. Created by Ryan Hendrix, Kari Zweber Palmer, Nancy Tarshis, and Michelle Garcia Winner. We are a very small business and cannot release all of our material and intellectual property into the digital wild like some other large scale publishers. We know giving free materials is helpful but we are too small to open the gates to all of your requests. We thank you for NOT reading our books aloud and posting them on other online platforms. Instead, come HERE or to our website to see what’s new. Thanks for understanding and enjoy!
This week’s story is The Napping House, by Audrey and Don Wood. This story has a beautiful cadence to it. Please let us know if you have any story requests!
