Attorney Profile--Julian H. Spirer
Since 1982, Julian H. Spirer has been meeting the diverse legal needs of a general business, trade association, and nonprofit clientele. He provides counseling on the wide array of issues of concern to business and tax-exempt organizations, including contracts, intellectual property, employment, and regulatory compliance. He is a member of the DC, MD, NY, and Supreme Court bars.
Mr. Spirer has lectured at Georgetown University Law School, American University, and the New School for Social Research, and has written extensively, on business and nonprofit law issues. He regularly instructs DC lawyers in helping clients in apply for nonprofit status. For several years, he authored a nonprofit law column for the magazine Who Cares?
Mr. Spirer's community activities have included serving as President of the Barney Neighborhood House, the oldest settlement house in the District of Columbia, as Chair of the National Governing Council of the American Jewish Congress, and as chairman and treasurer of several local political campaigns. He is currently a member of the Maryland Governor's Commission on Middle Eastern American Affairs.
