Dodd will have the honor of being a guest professor at the University of Wisconsin Law School, where he is scheduled to deliver a 90-minute Zoom lecture to the Pre-Trial Advocacy class. Cross-examination at trials, in-person depositions, and Zoom depositions are the primary topics of Attorney Dodd’s lecture.
Courts have switched to remote operations, and some are saying they may not switch back. Attorney Roger J. Dodd is ready to help lawyers adjust with this new course on cross-examination over video platforms. To date, it has been released to more than 12 state bar associations across the United States and Canada.

In a 60-minute Zoom lecture to the Indiana Public Defender Commission and its guests, Attorney Roger J. Dodd discussed “Cross-Examination for Depositions” on August 28. This presentation was inspired by Indiana’s recent legislation that deemed depositions fair game for use in criminal cases.
Legal professionals of all ages and levels of experience from the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada have attended the Roger J. Dodd Trial Skills Clinic. The clinic has been offered via Zoom since July and is aimed at developing trial skills through challenging, interactive lessons. Attorney Dodd, alongside Attorney Patricia Kuendig and two professional improv actors who play varying witnesses, deliver each clinic to a small group of 8 practicing lawyers. Dodd will be presenting to the Criminal Lawyers’ Association (CLA) and its entire membership on October 24 regarding the topic of “Advance Cross-Examination: Techniques to Control Difficult Witnesses.” CLA is a Canadian legal organization with over 1,500 members from all of Canada’s provinces.
