Let’s talk divorce. 🧍🏽♀️🧍🏻
Can you sell a vehicle, titled in your name alone that was purchased during your marriage, after your divorce has been filed? Complicated question... simple answer: NO.
Once a divorce has been filed, the parties are prohibited from doing anything to marital property that makes it worth less money—this means you cannot sell, spend, destroy, harm, transfer, or hide property unless the Court orders it or your spouse agrees. Marital property is defined as any assets or property acquired by either you or your spouse while you are married. 💥This prohibition includes spending your stimulus check!💥
We LOVE thank you cards from our clients. We really get to know people over the months we work on their personal injury cases and it’s bittersweet when it’s all over!
Happy Friday! We settled a personal injury case today during mediation and walked out with a happy client. Money certainly doesn’t take away the pain she has suffered as a result of her injuries, but we hope it eases her burdens and allows her to take that trip she has been dreaming about. We also made sure one of our clients, who is going through a nasty divorce, gets to spend his birthday with his son (who he hasn’t seen in months).
The best part of being an attorney is having the ability to affect someone’s life for the better. Going into the weekend feeling grateful for this profession. #SpurrellLawGroup #Attorneys #LawFirm

Legal problems haven’t stopped for COVID-19 and neither have we. I promise we wore the masks correctly in the jail and took all proper hand washing precautions before and after! Trying to adjust to the new norm. #attorneylife

Attorney Grace Studer was the first attorney in this lawsuit to file a Petition to Dismiss Plaintiff's Complaint under Tennessee's Public Participation Act ("TPPA"). The TPPA was recently expanded in Tennessee to protect the public's right to speak freely on matters of public concern. We fight HARD for our clients.
