His love for the water started as a teen, when he began sailing Sunfish, Flying Juniors, and other small boats. This passion has driven him to sail both the east and west coasts of the country, going as far as the Chesapeake and exploring Los Angeles and Catalina Island. Built between 1672 and 1695, it is the oldest masonry fort in the continental United States and has been owned by the Spanish, British, and Americans. Today, it can be visited by foot or, as we prefer it, seen from the water as it watches over the Matanzas River ⛵️
