We had a fantastic volunteer and donation turnout at the Allina Health Free Bikes 4 Kidz/MN community collection event at St. Francis on Saturday! St. Francis staff, along with their families, collected 228 bikes from generous community members! Overall, Allina Health collected 7,044 bikes around the metro, which will be distributed to children in need. Thank you to our volunteers for donating your time, and to our community for donating your new and gently used bikes!

Shakopee resident, Lacy, knew something was terribly wrong when she could barely muster enough strength to drive her kids to school. Joint pain, shivering, a pounding headache and a 105-degree fever followed. Extremely sick and diagnosed with COVID-19, Lacy was admitted to St. Francis, where she was given donated plasma from a COVID-19 survivor. Once transfused with the plasma, things for Lacy began to improve, keeping her off a ventilator and eventually allowing her to go home.
