St. John’s Fountain Lake campus residents spent a fabulous evening with a warm fire and great company. They enjoyed delicious s’mores, roasted hot dogs, and hot cocoa for the perfect evening. 🌭☕️🍫🔥
In an ongoing effort to keep our residents, tenants, staff, and community safe, both St. John's campuses are having onsite COVID-19 testing for residents and staff. There were fun drawings for PTO, Kwik Trip gift cards, and St. John's apparel. Thank you to everyone involved for your cooperation and for everything you do every day to keep our residents safe and healthy.
Octoberfest continues at St. John’s Lutheran Community Fountain Lake campus today. Residents enjoyed polka music, Braunschweiger and crackers, layered German chocolate cake, and sampled delicious German inspired beer. So much fun and many smiles!
Time to Fire Up the Grill! 🥩🍔🍞🥔☕️🥛🥗
St. John’s Knutson Place tenants enjoyed savory ribeye steaks right off the grill for lunch today. What a delicious meal served with a baked potato, coleslaw, and homemade Apple crisp. A special thank-you to Danny and Judy Hanson for donating a beautiful brand-new grill for the tenants to enjoy.
St. John's Luther Place Campus celebrated Oktoberfest this afternoon with fun music, food, and drinks. Residents had the opportunity to enjoy savory German-inspired food and sample different beers.
We like our B-I-N-G-O games at St. John's Lutheran Community, and LOVE the prizes for today's games. The Albert Lea Tribune generously donated fun "I got issues" T-shirts, Albert Lea-Opoly games, Totes, and a couple FREE 3-Month subscriptions to the Albert Lea Tribune! Thank you so much to the Tribune for these amazing prizes!
Thank you to Hy-Vee in Albert Lea for the generous donation of gorgeous pumpkins. These will be used for St. John's pumpkin carving/decorating contest. Stay tuned next week to see all the creative designs we come up with. 🎃

St. John's Lutheran Community wants to thank Mayo Clinic for partnering with us to provide worksheets and fun prizes on gratitude. St. John's Water's Edge tenants received "The Gratitude Alphabet" and "My Journey of Gratitude." Everyone who completed these worksheets received a fun prize. What a fun way to remember all we have been blessed with.
$618.00 raised for the local Salvation Army Food Shelf! Great job to the thoughtful and generous residents, staff and community at St. John’s Lutheran Community! Thank you to Bayview Funeral Home for the generous donation of $300.00 and a big thank you to Chaplain Don and Paul Sullivan for being a good sport and offering to get your heads shaved for this great cause!

URGE CONGRESS TO PASS CORONAVIRUS RELIEF BILL NOW
Now that the election is over, Congress has returned to Washington D.C. to finish some important work. As the months have gone by, aging services providers have continued to care for and protect residents without needed relief. ACT NOW by contacting your members of Congress. We need the House and Senate to work together to pass a comprehensive COVID-19 relief bill that will help providers who serve older adults. Both chambers have expressed interest in finishing this relief package, and this may be our last chance to fund PPE, testing supplies, and other essential services for all aging services providers before the end of the year. THANK YOU for helping us advocate for the long-term care industry and St. John's Lutheran Community.
