About

WE AIM TO FORM CHILDREN IN WISDOM AND HOLINESS

The Mission of Saint Louis Catholic School is to prepare the leaders of tomorrow with the light of Christ as their guide.

Grade Levels
Early Childhood Development Center
Catholic Montessori Education for students ages 3-5
Grades pre-k through 8th grade

We believe in education with a purpose. Our lesson plan objectives are based not on what “students will be able to do”, but rather, on what “truth students will behold.”

We provide an integrated curriculum so the student grasps the relationships between different areas of learning and the relationship to God. The catholic faith is woven into each subject area.

Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition are integrated throughout the curriculum at an age appropriate manner for each grade level.

The seven virtues are an integral part of life at our school. Students focus on one virtue each month and study the saints who have lived lives of virtue.

We put great emphasis on critical thinking. We strive to give our students the skills they need to think and express themselves with clarity, precision, logical rigor, and persuasive power. A few of our key methods are: project based, socratic seminars, STEM elective, and our 7th and 8th graders are given the opportunity to formally study logic.

We continue to embrace the good of science and technology at the service of man and God.

History

St. Louis Catholic School opened its doors in 1956. Throughout the years a secondary and administration building was added, along with a gym and Wozniak Hall. Music, science and math classrooms were also added. During the 1990's there was a complete technology renovation. In 1986 the school received its first accreditation status by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

In 2012 St. Louis began to implement a one-to-one device program across grades 3-8. By 2016 the one-to-one device goal was achieved and each student in grades 3-8 was equipped with a Chromebook. Technology was added classroom by classroom. These additions included iPads, interactive Promethean whiteboards, and a Makerspace that provides a hands on, creative space for students to design, experiment, invent and build.

In 2016, other exciting changes were made, a prayer garden, a playground for our younger students, and a Marian shrine dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Beginning in the 2017-2018 school year, St. Louis Catholic School became the first school in the Diocese of Austin to offer a Catholic Montessori program for students ages 3-5.

As we look ahead, it is our goal to build on our rich history and tradition carried out over 60 years, while setting a course for our future.
