I got my start in insurance in 1987 when I opened Gardnerville's first Allstate agency in September of that year. I became an Allstate representative after working for my brother-in-law who had an agency of his own. It seemed like a fun job and, after working for him, I realized I loved interacting with people and helping them find coverage that fits their specific needs.
I was born and raised in Nevada and have lived in the Carson Valley for 32 years. I used to spend a lot of time here in the summer visiting my uncle's family. I love hiking, fishing and enjoying the great outdoors and knew I wanted to live here when I grew up. It's been a dream come true getting to raise my three boys in this amazing community, and I'm proud to serve residents here as an Allstate representative.
My office is located in the heart of historic Gardnerville, southwest of the Carson Valley Cultural Museum. Being 15 minutes away from Lake Tahoe, if you like biking, hiking, camping or fishing, this is the place to be! We also have easy access to BLM land which means you can ATV and off-road motorcycle right outside your backdoor.
Carson Valley has a lot of hometown pride and, each year, our office supports the Carson Valley Day celebration. It's a great event where people in our community celebrate our agricultural pride, first responders and volunteer groups that make this such a special place to live. We take the idea of being a community to heart here and are known for helping support those in need.
Because this is such a tight-knit community, it's important to my staff and I that we support local causes and organizations. We volunteer with the Douglas County Suicide Prevention Coalition, Douglas High Senior in Need Fund, Reel Kids Real Retreats (fly fishing retreats for children with cancer), the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Smith Valley Chapter Women for Wildlife, the Family Support Council of Douglas County and many more. I'm also a member of the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending my free time hiking, fishing or mountain biking with family. I’m married to my wife, Sandy, and we have three boys, Seth, Spencer and Shane. Two of them are grown up and out of the house, but we have our three dogs, Briar, Nilla and Stitch to keep us busy. You'll often find us exploring the outback of Nevada and wilderness areas.
My motto is that I GET to work every day and I GET to help people – it’s a real privilege. My staff and I live and work in this community. We strive to meet each customer's budget while helping them choose the coverage they need to protect what matters most to them. Whether you're a small-business owner looking to protect your business or in need of a home or auto policy, we can help. Stop by today to say hello and find out how we can assist you.
