Staker Parson won UDOT Region Two’s I-80; MP 10.46 to MP 20 Project! This project is on I-80 between mile posts 10.46 to 20.0. We will be rotomilling off 1 1/2" of existing asphalt and paving back 1 1/2" of SMA. At the Port of Entry we will also be removing a small area of asphalt and concrete and placing 6" of HMHMA 1/2". We look forward to providing a smooth drive on this section of I-80!
Staker Parson won UDOT Region Two's SR-302; Rockport State Park project! SR-302 is a pavement preservation project of the main roadway in Rockport State Park. The work consists of a mill and fill capped with a chip seal. The roadway will also receive new signage and striping. We look forward to working with UDOT and Rockport State Park!

On a recent chip seal project in Clinton, Utah, Brett Braegger's crew was moving between streets they were working on when they noticed a man lying on the sidewalk. Rodney Bailey, only with the team for 2 months at the time, used his CPR training and took quick action to attempt to save the man while employee, Mario Saenz called 911. Rodney was able to revive the man shortly before paramedics arrived.

Salt Lake City has had 1300 East closed, from 1300 South to 2100 South, in two phases since 2018 to replace and rehabilitate aging underground utility lines to improve water and sewer services as part of a two-year effort to reconstruct the road. This 1300 East Reconstruction project also included:
- Replacement of obsolete and decaying driveway approaches and sidewalk segments
- Replacement of the pavement, curb, and gutter
- Upgrades to storm drains
- Upgraded signs and road messaging
- New ADA compliant bus stops
- Adding a dedicated center lane to allow left turns
- New bike lanes in both directions
- A consistent street design to match northern cross section
This project is now complete and the corridor is now open to the traveling public. The project improved access, mobility, and drainage along this important city thoroughfare, and residents will enjoy more resilient utility services now that it is complete.

Project Highlight- Staker Parson was nominated for a NAPA award for Quality in Pavement, for their work on US-6. This highway is notorious for being dangerous and busy. The project began in May and was completed in September of this year. Most of the project was constructed with night shifts. The project consisted of mill and overlays, traffic control, rotomilling and paving. We are proud of the accomplishment of this project. Kudos to the team who worked together to complete this project safely.
