So, a good friend of mine called last night to wish us a "Happy First Friday!" and it was the first time in 9 years I completely forgot about the Art Walk! I was at our studio last week and the Santa Fe Arts District looked like a ghost town - our building and most businesses are shut down until the world reboots itself once again... but I've got 9 years of photos of the fun times and smiling faces that walked through our front door, and I thought I'd share a bunch of them!

Well friends, the Santa Fe Arts District is still pretty quiet - limited access to open galleries and no First Friday Art Walks on the current horizon... my girls and I have been working on some projects and wanted to share a sculpting technique with all you talented peeps out there in FB land - we've been creating a "minor alien infestation" at Side Show Studio, utilizing a dry paper mache formula which allows you to sculpt just about anything you can dream up and is far less messy than the traditional "wet stuff". We've used it on many projects over the years and thought it was time to share it with you! Instructions, samples, examples and mind numbing commentary included with the following photos - this stuff is easy to make and finishes out nicely with all types of paint. It's a lot of fun to play with and as always, you are only limited by your imagination!

One year ago today the girls and I got to paint a wall sign on our "Artists on Santa Fe" building - my how things have changed... First Fridays are slowly coming back to life with small gatherings, some very creative face masks and everybody doin' the social distance shuffle. The City is in the process of giving Santa Fe a facelift with extended sidewalks and bike lanes! I can only believe things will be better soon... hang in there dear friends - this too shall pass...

Well we finally got around to puttin' in the 'Rumpus Room" - things have been slow down at the Studio, so we punched a hole in the roof and created a "reverse rabbit hole" for future "art parties" and "social rekindling's!" Landlord wasn't real happy - kept whining about "fire code this" and "water damage that"- blah, blah, blah... but stay tuned kids - the ziplines almost up and running again and it's just a short zing and a swing up to our "Roof Top Paradise!" Coming soon, from yer pals at Side Show Studio!
