Dear Clients, As an attempt to return to some sort of normalcy, we will now allow clients to enter the building with their pet beginning tomorrow, 10/5. For the safety of our high risk staff members and their families, we ask that entry be limited to one person with a mask per family, with the exception being euthanasias. When all 3 exam rooms are full, clients will be asked to remain in their vehicles until a room becomes available. Curbside service will still be an option for those wishing to remain outside and those with small children. During your inside visit, a technician will accompany your pet to the treatment area for their exam/procedure. A doctor or technician will then return to discuss your pet with you in the doorway or via phone, as to limit the number of individuals in small spaces. Please be patient as we continue to adjust our protocols for the safety of clients as well as our staff and their families. Thank you for understanding!
STAFF TRAINING The clinic will be closed from 1:00-2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 13 for staff training. Thank-you for your understanding.
UPDATED AGAIN 10/24 New Pumpkin Added to Photos 🎃 It’s that time of year again! 🎃 Welcome to the 2020 Stateline Pumpkin Decorating Contest! Please cast your vote for your favorite pumpkin here on our Facebook page or in-person if you’re at the clinic. The winner will be announced on October 30. Check back with us later this week as we may have a few last minute entries.
Allow us to introduce you to a common problem we see this time of year, bot fly larva (aka Cuterebra or Wolves). Bot flies lay their eggs on the ground or in an animal’s hair, and the eggs hatch into larva. The larva then cling to the animal’s hair and burrow into the skin, leaving a distinct “hole” at their point of entry. In the wild, they are frequently seen in rabbits and squirrels. We most often see them in the necks of kittens and puppies. They cause a severe amount of inflammation in the area and must be removed by a veterinarian, as they must be removed whole or they can cause a severe and lethal reaction.
For those of you asking about this sweet puppy turned in yesterday, it is now being taken care of by Tunica Humane Society. Please contact the rescue directly if you are interested in fostering or adopting.
Patrice Walton October 23 at 6:18 AM · It's now been 3 weeks since I've seen this sweet little boy. I'm confident someone has him. I'm hoping he's still in this area because if so I'll get him back. I NEED A FAVOR. I would like for those near Memphis and North Mississippi to share the name, phone number, and fax number of their vet's office. I'm collecting that information to fax fliers. I've already sent to some of vets, but I'm wanting to send to more if I can. Thank you so much! 💖
Congratulations to our pumpkin winners! First and second place were only separated by ONE vote! 1st: Mariachi Player by Dr. Deterding 2nd: Frog by Gail Smith Shelley 3rd: M&M by Ashley Spencer Downs Thanks to our participants and voters!

Dear Clients, Thank you for your continued loyalty and patience as we strive to provide quality service during this pandemic. We want the very best for our clients, patients, and staff during these crazy times, and this sometimes means changes must be made. Beginning on February 1, the doctors will be unavailable to see patients from 12-2 pm daily. Our doctors will use this down time to have lunch, take a moment to mentally recharge, and finish any lingering tasks. We will still be open for drop offs (including pets needing to be seen by a doctor), pickups, medicine and prescription diet sales, nail trims, etc. We appreciate your understanding as we work to find a new normal!

Dear Clients, As the state of Mississippi continues to relax COVID restrictions, many of you have asked why we are still curbside. We have multiple staff members that are high risk. These staff members are being vaccinated, but vaccines take several weeks to become effective. We also have to take into account that the vaccine is only now being released to more of the general population. Waiting slightly longer to open our doors decreases the risk to both us and our clients. We realize not being allowed in with your pet can be scary, but we assure you that we continue to provide the same quality of care for your pet as we did during in-person visits. We ask that you be patient a little longer as we work towards opening our doors safely. Thank you.
