Hello SSLC Families!
We have 2 very exciting announcements!
We are going to organize a bake sale and Trunk or Treat! This will be on the Friday before Halloween, and we are going to take a limited amount of parent volunteers, due to social distancing and our smallish parking lot, but we are planning some great fun! There will be multiple ways that parents can be involved, even if you cannot physically attend. We will generate and share a sign up genius link for those volunteer opportunities! We will announce more soon, but if you are interested in being a volunteer, please let us know so we can start to guage interest!
Finally, we are forming a community partnership with Brookdale Senior Living. We would like to kick this off with a fun community project! We are going to be sending home a fall wreath kit for each family to complete together, and send back into us to drop off to them by October 15. If you would like to create a card or send a picture of your family, or anything along those lines, that would certainly be welcome. Brookdale is also inviting our families to a virtual candy dish craft class, along with a fun outdoor Candy Land Trick or Treat Event, on Halloween afternoon. I will have the specifics for you by the end of the week! We are also working on setting a date where our preschool, pre-k, and kindergartners get to go perform a sing and sign concert for the seniors that they are working on putting together with Anne Marie! We would love to invite parents to volunteer for this as well, we could definitely use help with dress rehearsals and costumes!
We are really looking forward to finding creative ways to continue to give back to our community, and have fun in ways that bring us all together!

We are looking to "adopt" a nursing home/retirement community! If anyone has one in particular that they have a personal connection to, we would love to hear from you!
Working with children, in such a personal field, and being so passionate about our community, it's easy to see why we would support paid family leave! We also have some of the most amazing teachers, and we want them to be healthy and remain with us! We would love to hear your thoughts!

Coming soon: Facebook groups for each classroom! Our families have expressed wanting to connect to one another, and we LOVE this idea! We also would love to get monthly, virtual parent socials to bring families in each class together! Great ideas proposed in tonight's parent committee!
Butterbraids anyone? We are doing a fundraiser through the center to help 3 of our teachers achieve their CDA (Child Development Associate) credential! Orders are due by November 11th, and we will have them ready by November 18th!
