Steven R. MacDonald, MD, FACOG, is a board-certified OB/GYN in Plano, Texas. When it comes to patient care, Dr. MacDonald takes a personalized approach and provides a range of services. After finishing his OB/GYN residency 21 years ago, he began his practice in Plano and is now in his 20th year.
Dr. MacDonald specializes in the entire scope of obstetric and gynecological care from adolescence through menopause. He also treats high-risk pregnancies, including multiple gestations. Dr. MacDonald is also an expert gynecological surgeon and specializes in minimally invasive procedures for hysterectomies as well as various gynecological concerns, including endometriosis and ovarian cysts.
Originally from Idaho, Dr. MacDonald received his bachelor of arts degree in zoology and philosophy from the University of Idaho in Moscow. He then traveled to Chicago for medical school at Northwestern University, where he remained to complete his OB/GYN residency at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University.
Dr. MacDonald is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and currently serves on various committees at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano. He previously served as chair of the department of obstetrics and gynecology and chair of the women’s and infants committee.
When he’s not working to improve women’s health, Dr. MacDonald is spending time with his wife and three daughters.
