Dr. Steven McCarthy is a primary care physician in Thousand Oaks. He has 20 years of experience treating adult patients with a variety of health conditions, and focuses on preventive medicine and managing chronic conditions with evidence-based care. He listens to each individual’s concerns and practices holistic medicine, guiding patients to realize their health potential and maximize their quality of life. He is board certified in internal medicine.
Prior to joining UCLA Health, Dr. McCarthy worked as a general internist for Northwestern Regional Medical Group in a primary care office north of Chicago. In this role, he was awarded multiple quality care and patient advocacy awards.
Dr. McCarthy earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at Advocate Christ Hospital & Medical Center. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Medical Society.
When he’s not working, Dr. McCarthy likes to stay active by playing golf and running half-marathons and other local races. He also enjoys wine and wine tastings, and spending time with his wife and two chocolate labs.
