It was an emotional day as we (virtually) participated in the Bay Area/ Galveston Walk to End Alzheimer’s, and held a ceremonial butterfly release. The weather might have been dreary, but we had a wonderful time walking through the halls together! Alzheimer's Association: Houston & Southeast Texas Chapter Cookies for a Cause #ENDALZ #Walk2EndAlz
Our teams wrapped up an inspiring week of Eden Alternative training at Camp Allen in Navasota. The group was a collection of MRC professionals: CNAs, Nurses, Life Enrichment, Directors, Administrators, and Maintenance as well as members of the Central Support Office. While many Texans are still without electricity and water, MRC Mirador residents are blessed with warm homes, running water, and a splendid Dining team to provide warm meals.
As Corpus Christi is under a water boil notice, our Dining and Maintenance staff went from room to room handing out gallons of water to each resident AND staff member!

❄️Another cold but beautiful morning at MRC Cornerstone! We wanted to share with you pictures from around the community, but also share how stress free living at MRC Cornerstone can be! Before the snow arrived our residents did not have to wrap pipes, prepare roofs, or worry about meals- we took care of that!
Best of all... everyone stayed nice and warm without worrying about electricity... because we have that covered, too!

MRC Affordable Housing is so grateful during this epic artic snow storm. Many were without power, water and lack of food but we had stocked onsite food pantries, plenty of water and power. We are so grateful for these many blessings and the generous donations throughout the year that keep our pantries full in times of need!

We are so thankful for our team here at MRC The Crossings! This week has certainly not been easy, but our team members did their best to go above and beyond for our elders. From sleeping over, walking residents' dogs, delivering food, stepping into different roles, and so much more our team made sure everyone was taken care of. Jesus Espinoza, Physical Therapist Assistant, made the best of his time hunkered down in MRC Cornerstone apartments by staying physically active & challenging others (more pics in comments)!! During last week's winter storm, our MRC PineCrest team truly demonstrated how much they love our PineCrest family. Here is Marketing Director, Victoria Hutto, faithfully serving meals during the storm. She was often the only one available to help with meal service as other team members were needed in other areas. I spy with my little eye… our Forest residents in Texas City! Today, our assisted living elders took the bus out for a scavenger hunt. Carmen gave each resident a score card to record when they spotted key landmarks and signs. Everyone was so excited for the trip on this beautiful day!
