Todd Turetsky, L.Ac., M.T.O.M. has been practicing acupuncture for over 15 years. He began his studies of East Asian Medicine in 1993 and obtained a masters degree in the field from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in 1997. He has completed certificate programs in Japanese acupuncture at Bastyr University and the Toyohari association and has studied extensively with various Masters in the USA and Japan.
The foundation of the Japanese style that Todd practices holds that overall wellbeing needs to be held first and foremost in the treatment process. Once this shift towards wellness is initiated, any symptom that one might be experiencing is much more likely to be truly affected. The analogy often employed is that if one is trying to affect the health of a particular tree, one must first make sure that the ecosystem within which it lives is in a state of balance. By practicing in a solely one-on-one client to practitioner relationship allows for Todd to take the time to truly understand and feel the subtle movements in one's system. By then utilizing the gentle acupuncture techniques unique to the Japanese way the shifts are created to alleviate any individual symptom in the context of the health of the entire being.
After a five year sabbatical where he spent several years living in Asia, Todd has returned with his family to the area where he will be once again establishing his practice at The Integrative Medical Clinic in Santa Rosa. He focuses his practice on sports medicine, depression, anxiety and stress related disorders, as well as successfully treats many other conditions including: acute & chronic pain, migraines, headaches, digestive disorders including IBS, allergies & asthma, sleep issues, women’s health issues, fatigue, fibromyalgia, liver disease (HCV), autoimmune disorder, and more!
