October 5th is World Teacher Day! Today we honor our teachers for their kindness, knowledge, dedication, inspiration, and so much more. To all the teachers who are doing their best to educate and inspire during this difficult time, thank you.

Today's Out Of Office comes from Kyler Elliot, CSR/Teller in our Helena market. Kyler became hooked on disc golf, also called frisbee golf, in college. Kyler loved the sport so much he and his father built a 9-hole course on their property in his hometown of Ennis. Last year he started playing competitively in the amateur divisions, and with a little more practice he hopes to compete in the professional divisions. Good luck Kyler!

Charlie is retiring! Thank you for your years of service and dedication to our customers, the Miles City community and Stockman Insurance. We wish you a long and happy retirement! Please join us Tuesday, March 30th between 2-5pm as we celebrate Charlie and show off our new office at 720 Main in Miles City.

Tina Diegel, our insurance agent in Glendive, was recently elected to the Glendive Medical Center Foundation Board. The GMC Board works to fund technology and capital improvements at the hospital, sustain the Hospice program, assist elderly and underserved who are unable to pay for medical care, improve medial services and add programs to improve the health of area residents. Congratulations Tina, and thank you for your service to the community!

Today is National Agriculture Day! We salute our farmers and ranchers who work hard to put food and products in households around the world. Dawnita Sampsel is an Ag Loan Officer at our Stanford bank. She and her husband ranch south of Stanford and run sheep and cattle. "Temperature regulation and cleanliness are just a couple of very important reasons we shear for the ewes overall health and wellness. The wool is then sold to a wool broker. It will be put through a cleaning, combing, spinning, knitting, dyeing and finishing before it is able to become clothing." The next time you eat a juicy burger or wear that beautiful article of wool clothing, take a moment to thank those who put in the work so we can enjoy the fruits of their labor!

Today's Tuesday Tip regarding IRA's comes from Michelle Juntunen, Junior Portfolio Analyst for Stockman Wealth Management in Helena. With the extended May 17th tax deadline fast approaching, it may be time to think about your IRA contribution. IRAs are a great tax-advantaged way to save for your retirement. You can still make 2020 contributions up until the filing deadline. For 2020, annual contribution limits are $6,000 with a $1,000 catch up ($7,000) if you are age 50 or older. These contributions can be made to your Traditional IRA (pre-tax) or Roth IRA (after-tax). Remember that participation in employer sponsored retirement plans and/or income phase-outs may limit deductibility and the ability to contribute to these retirement accounts.
