Healthy Gums mean fresher breath. Integrate these practices into your dental routine to keep your gums healthy.
- Always brush along the gum line in short back-and-forth strokes to loosen plaque build-up
- Floss against the shape of each tooth to dislodge food particles swept into the gum line
- Use an anti-microbial, alcohol-free mouthwash after brushing and flossing to minimize oral bacteria
- Schedule twice-yearly professional cleanings to tackle hardened build-up and hard-to-reach areas. They are also important in identifying and treating any developing dental concerns.
If your gums show signs of swelling, inflammation, or bleeding, you could be at risk for gum disease. Call or text 952-831-1112 to schedule an appointment to discuss your concerns and evaluate your gum health.
Now is the time to get your flu shot. The CDC recommends getting it by the end of October to best protect you and your loved ones.
Although this year's flu shot doesn't include a COVID-19 vaccination, a study in Brazil showed the odds of severe disease, ventilatory support requirement, and death from COVID-19 are reduced with a trivalent flu vaccine.
Sip water often to help rebalance your mouth’s PH, minimize oral bacterial growth.
Pro Tip: Use a straw to makes it easier to stay hydrated throughout the day even while wearing your mask.

What the Color, Size, Shape, and Feel of Your Gums Say About Your Health
COVID-19 has not only interrupted routinely scheduled dental care but also created additional stress, leading to additional health complications. In recent months, we have seen more periodontal (gum) issues than normal and an increase in dental decay (cavities).
Visiting the dentist every 6 months provides preventative care, detects issues early, and benefits your overall health.
If you are due for your 6-month appointment, call or text 952-831-1112 to book your hygiene visit or request an appointment online by through our website at tinyurl.com/SJappt1
