Storage Solution's Waikele Self Storage October 6 at 9:00 PM · Outdoor community events Look for community events focused on safe ways to have fun. These may include programs offered by a park district, arboretum, zoo or other outdoor venues in your area. Stay away from crowds and clustering, and follow safe distance rules even when outdoors. Avoid indoor events such as haunted houses. A local haunted forest or corn maze may be a better option, as long as cloth face covering use, physical distancing and one-way walk through is enforced. If you think there may be screaming, leave extra distance to lower the risk of spreading respiratory virus. If you go to a pumpkin patch or apple orchard, also use hand sanitizer before and after touching what you pick. If your children will be outside, mark their costumes with reflective tape. Remind them to be careful around cars, as drivers may not see them. Make sure shoes fit well and costumes are short enough to prevent tripping or contact with flames.

Halloween-themed treats Make some fun Halloween treats as a family. Decorate a pizza with toppings in the shape of a jack-o'-lantern, for example, or make tangerine pumpkins (peel the tangerine and stick a thin slice of celery on top to look like a stem). Make sure the treats are not choking hazards if you have children under age 3.
Decorating pumpkins This is one Halloween tradition that's as safe and fun as ever. As always, just be careful to avoid pumpkin carving injuries. Children can draw a face with markers. Then parents can do the cutting. When the carving is done, consider putting a battery-operated light rather than an open-flame candle inside. Roast the seeds from the pumpkin for a healthy snack!
Spooky movie night Celebrate with a movie night and dress as your favorite characters. Do this as a family at home or consider letting your child watch with their friends while video chatting, with everyone starting the movie at the same time. Undoubtedly, many visitors have been keeping a close eye on Hawaii and its process of reopening to visitors and tourists. Since late March, there has been a 14-day Hawaii quarantine, and there's some good news on that front. Hawaii will now be relaxing the mandatory 14-day quarantine policy as of Thursday, October 15, 2020, allowing travelers to present proof of a negative COVID-19 test instead. That's 15 days from today and counting...
3. Connect with family members far away. In light of social distancing and the coronavirus pandemic, Thanksgiving might look a bit different this year, with many families skipping their big annual gatherings for something smaller. But even if some of your nearest and dearest can't make it to the celebration, they can still join in on the festivities—virtually. Set up a virtual happy hour or a video call before, after, or even during your meal with those who can't make it to the table, so they'll feel like they're there.
2. Indulge in a pie breakfast. Instead of starving yourself until 3 p.m., start the day right (and expand your stomach a little!) with a pie breakfast. Invite guests to bring their favorites, or try one of these killer recipes.
1.Write down what you're thankful for. In all the fun and frenzy, it can be easy to forget the true meaning of Thanksgiving: gratitude. Dole out black sharpies and, before digging in, invite each guest to write what they're thankful for on a butcher paper cloth laid over the table. You can archive the sheets to look back on fondly.
No matter which Christmas decoration ideas you have, the ideal time to decorate for Christmas is the weekend of Thanksgiving. If you’re still wondering how early is too early, stick to the rule that putting up Christmas decorations anytime before Halloween is too early.

3. Learn a Halloween dance. This could be the big finale for your home video or play – or just a great way to get some exercise and laugh together as a family. Search YouTube for “monster mash dance,” “monster shuffle” – or choreograph your own, featuring your child’s best moves! Practice then perform, preferably in costume.
9. ...and the occasional sunrise shot. When we wake up early enough, that is.

Steamed or fried still a good snack! Manapua translates to “delicious pork thing” in Hawaiian, and that is exactly what it is: diced pork filling inside a steamed white bun. You can substitute other meats, or even bean paste if you would like — yum!
There is nothing quite like an acai bowl full of acai berries, fresh fruit, granola or oatmeal, and a drizzle of honey, after a sunrise hike. This is such a healthy and satisfying breakfast, and I’m still trying to perfect the sweet meal at home.
A Classic Kalua Pork. This traditional dish is usually cooked in an underground oven, called a Imu, and served at most Hawaiian luaus. It's also used as a protein source in a variety of scrumptious dishes, from nachos to sliders.
Best beaach day treat! Ah, Shave Ice: the quintessential Hawaiian treat, the perfect snack for a quick sugar rush after a day spent in the ocean. Is there really any better dessert on a hot Hawaiian afternoon? We sure don’t think so.

One of my faves !! Sapm Musubi More Spam is sold in Hawaii than the rest of America per capita, so it makes since that the islands have combined Spam and sushi to create spam musubi. Often seen as the quintessential beach snack, spam musubi is sold everywhere from specialty eateries to your local gas station.
