The Strong Wall Difference
Cooler weather is upon us and it's time to fire up your fireplace! Here are some things to remember before lighting the first fire of the season:
🔥 Consider having your fireplace inspected and cleaned by a licensed chimney specialist.
🔥 Make sure the area around the hearth is clear of debris.
🔥 Open the flue before lighting your fire to give the fireplace proper ventilation.
🔥 Never use flammable liquids to start a fire, opt for a match or commercial fire-lighter.
🔥 Before leaving the house or going to bed, you should make certain to fully extinguish the fire.
🔥 Allow ashes to cool completely before disposing of them — ashes can take several days to cool completely.

Did you know that according to the NFPA, 81% of house fires are caused by portable heaters? 🔥
By using these 5 tips, you just might save your home from experiencing detrimental damage due to an electric heater fire.
1) Never leave the heater unattended.
2) Keep the heater at least three feet away from anything remotely flammable.
3) Plug the heater directly into a wall outlet. Try not to use an extension cord.
4) Always unplug the heater when not in use.
5) Inspect the heater for cracked or broken plugs before each use.
