Struan Coleman, MD, PhD is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon treating patients from in and around New York City, as well as patients from across the United States in need of his expertise. Dr. Coleman delivers a variety of procedures including treatments for Femoral Acetabular Impingement (FAI), knee arthroscopy, shoulder arthroscopy, rotator cuff surgery, meniscus repair, hamstring repair, knee replacement, and shoulder replacement. He is expertly trained in arthroscopy and other orthopedic surgical techniques.
Dr. Coleman has an impressive educational background that began with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry at Harvard University followed by a Master of Science and a PhD in microbiology at Oxford University. Dr. Coleman’s medical degree is from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. He served his residency in orthopedic surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. Dr. Coleman is a member of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, the American College of Sports Medicine, and the American Medical Association. He serves as a consulting physician for the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) tour, the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), and is the team physician for the New York Mets baseball club.
Dr. Coleman is passionate about helping his patients recover from injuries and medical conditions that get in the way of life. He is currently welcoming new patients and accepts most major forms of insurance.
