Suhail Salem, MD, is an experienced gastroenterologist offering specialized care at his practice in Northridge, California.
Dr. Salem earned his medical degree at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, before completing internal medicine training at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. During this time Dr. Salem served as chief resident and played an important role in training medical students and residents, which earned him an award for excellence in teaching and service. Dr. Salem stayed on at Rush University Medical Center to complete his fellowship in gastroenterology, where he received additional awards, including excellence in GI endoscopy and a “Fellow of the Year.”
After finishing his fellowship, Dr. Salem pursued additional specialized training in advanced endoscopy at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. He received dedicated training in endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), in addition to other complex endoscopic techniques like endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) and enteral stenting. He also gained extensive experience caring for patients with cancers affecting their GI tract.
Dr. Salem’s clinical experience encompasses all aspects of gastroenterology and includes additional focus on using advanced endoscopic techniques to diagnose and manage a wide range of GI disorders. At his private practice in Northridge, Dr. Salem brings his advanced training and specialized skills to treating numerous GI conditions, including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), hepatitis C, celiac disease, pancreatitis, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and constipation.
Dr. Salem’s double board-certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine. He’s also a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
