Headquartered in Harlem, the power technology company designs and implements renewable power structures across the globe. With more than 12 patents and patents pending, Matthews and Uncharted Power continue to bridge the smart grid and smart city gap.

Charles Richard Drew’s immense contributions to the medical field made him one of the most important scientists in the 20th Century. As the first Black woman to hold a PhD from MIT, Dr. Shirley Ann Jackson's research and knowledge has helped lay the foundation for telecommunications. During her career, she helped develop the portable fax machine, caller ID technology and the touch tone telephone. She is also the first female, Black president of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute research university.

From NASA engineer to toy inventor, Lonnie Johnson holds many achievements. In 1990, Johnson developed the Super Soaker water gun – one of America’s best-selling toys. Additionally, Johnson crated the Johnson Thermo-Electrochemical Converter (JTEC) to convert heat into electricity. To this day, he holds 100 patents, with over 20 more pending.
