In 2002, Will Caton returned to Virginia triumphantly after 6.5 years of college at Arizona State ready to conquer the world. His excitement quickly faded, however, when he discovered that there was nowhere to get an authentic southwestern-style burrito. The burrito had become an integral part of his life. Whether eating one to provide brain fuel for a late night study session or enjoying one with friends at his favorite restaurant to provide a brief escape from the rigors of school. After many sleepless (and hungry) nights, the answer came to him like a lightning bolt open his own restaurant and share what he knew to be the best burrito available with others (and the obvious benefit of all the burritos he could eat may have been a motivating factor as well). The first location opened in Norfolk in 2002 and quickly developed a cult like following with the locals. The Machismo concept became more than a restaurant, it was a place to escape from the daily demands of life while kicking back and enjoying a big one. The insatiable demand of the masses necessitated the opening of more locations, the most recent in Lansdale, PA.
