The Suncoast Eye Center - Eye Surgery Institute has taken more precautions to make our clinic and surgical facility among the safest possible places to receive healthcare at this time. Over the past few months, our facility has maintained strict standards while following updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The steps we are taking to keep our patients and our staff safe:
• Screening processes in place for all patients, visitors, and clinicians before entering the facility; checking for fevers and any symptoms.
• Universal masking required throughout our facility.
• Heightened infection prevention policies, including the removal of high-touch items such as magazine, toys, water cooler and blocking water fountain.
• Updated visitor policies, including social distancing, which has been in place for the duration of the pandemic.
• Continuously disinfecting chairs, counters, door handles, etc.
However, precautions should not stop when you leave our facility. To protect yourself and others, it is imperative you continue to follow the current guidance from the CDC regarding social distancing and hand hygiene. These important infection prevention measures help keep you, and your loved ones safe.
Thank you for trusting in the Suncoast Eye Center - Eye Surgery Institute.
October- Halloween Safety Month
To avoid a real-life Halloween horror story – going blind because of a costume accessory – the American Academy of Ophthalmology is warning the public against wearing costume contact lenses purchased without a prescription. These illegally sold cosmetic lenses may not be sterile and can cause a host of serious eye problems capable of morphing a fun Halloween night into a nightmare.
