We are so grateful to be back in our office doing what we love to do!! As we ease back into routine dental appointments things will look a little different with social distancing and mask protection, but many things remain the same... like how much we care about our patients and their families, and our smiles underneath all these masks😷☺️!
The public health experts and dental associations have all provided guidance in the safest ways to screen patients and provide dental care at this time. Since these guidelines will likely evolve as the COVID-19 pandemic changes we will be constantly updating our protocols accordingly. For families with upcoming appointments and appointments being rescheduled you will be notified with the specific steps that we are taking to ensure the highest quality of care for your family. We have added additional hours to not only provide opportunities for our patients that had to reschedule appointments during the stay-at-home order, but to also allow for a more gradual return with the new protocols. We look forward to seeing your family soon as we continue to provide the highest level of pediatric dental care!

We have some exciting news to announce! The 2020 Kansas Dental Association Children’s Dental Health Month drawing contest winner for the Topeka District is..... Kahlan, from Mrs. Darla Hass’ third grade class at Cair Paravel Latin School in Topeka! Thank you to all of the students and teachers that submitted drawings for this year’s contest! We received so many great entries and really had a hard time narrowing the great drawings down to one.
Thank you for all that participated and we look forward to seeing our amazing patients and their families as soon as it is safe to do so. Keep smiling and stay positive!
Hello, from all of us at Sunflower Smiles Pediatric Dentistry! We wanted to give our Sunflower Smiles families an update as to our office’s status regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on the guidelines and recommendations of our local and national leaders we will continue to provide emergency care for our patients. Please do not hesitate to contact our office if your child is having a dental emergency or you have any questions regarding their dental health. Since there is not a definitive timeline as to when these recommendations will change we will be notifying the patients that this effects as their appointments get closer. We are all looking forward to seeing the amazing children and their families that we are so fortunate to serve. We can’t wait to see your smiling faces!

We wanted to give our Sunflower Smiles families a dental update as the COVID-19 virus pandemic continues to change both in Topeka and the national level. Our office has always put the health and safety of our patients, their families, and our team as our number one priority. Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic our office has not only followed, but exceeded the recommendations provided by the Centers for Disease Control, Kansas Department of Health and Environment, and the American Dental Association (ADA). Last night the ADA recommended postponing elective dental procedures, so this morning we began notifying and rescheduling our patients that this effects. As the recommendations change we will continue to evolve with them in order to continue to provide our community with the safest, highest level of care. Our team will still be available for emergency care throughout this entire process. Please call our office if your child is having any emergency dental issues or if you have any questions regarding your child’s dental health. As always, we will be happy to help in any way we can.

ATTENTION - 3rd Graders and Sunflower Smiles Patients!
Dr. Browning is the district coordinator for the Kansas Dental Association's (KDA) 3rd Grade contests and our office will be holding our annual Coloring Contest! The theme for this year is: Fluoride in Water Prevents Cavities.
Our annual Coloring Contest is open to all ages of Sunflower Smiles patients. We will be using the KDA's blank contest form for our contest, which is attached. All entries will be entered for a chance to win one of four $50 gift cards to The Toy Store! The winners will be drawn at random, so all will have an equal chance to win. All entries must be returned to our office by: Tuesday, March 3.
The KDA contest is open to all 3rd Graders and 3rd Grade classrooms in Kansas. The KDA flyer is attached and shows more information for the 3rd Grade contests! For more information on the KDA's contest, please visit: https://www.ksdental.org/NCDHM

It’s time for our 12th Annual Halloween Candy Back! We would LOVE to buy back any candy that you have left. We will be giving your child $1 per pound and ALSO donating $12 per pound to the Topeka Rescue Mission. As always, the candy will be sent to U.S. military troops serving overseas. Please bring the candy to Sunflower Smiles Pediatric Dentistry during our regular business hours (8 am to 4:30 pm) starting tomorrow, Tuesday November 3rd, through Thursday November 5th. When you arrive please call our office at (785)215-6658 and a member of our team will come out to your vehicle to take care of you. Our Candy Buy Back is open to all members of the community!

Our 12th annual Candy Buy Back will take place Tuesday, November 4th through Thursday, November 6th and is open to the entire Topeka community! In honor of our 12th year, $1 per pound will be given to the child and $12 per pound will be donated to The Topeka Rescue Mission! Please call our office at (785)215-6658 when you arrive with your Halloween Candy and we will have a staff member come to your car to weigh your candy and give your child their money!
Don’t forget our pumpkin contest voting will continue until next Thursday, November 6th!!
