Whoever sent this to us - thank you very much.
It's a Catch-22 thing. You never know if someone yielded to addiction because their brain was already pre-wired, or started suffering from a mental condition because they couldn't bear the stress of fighting the addiction. Either way, once you know how these things interact, it's easier to treat them both.

...they never had a chance - it *was* a conspiracy.
Most people still think that addiction is a moral failing. But the majority of our patients are people just like us - you wouldn't tell if you met them on the street. They all were blindsided by doctors, some of whom, in turn, were blindsided by the manufacturers. Each of them was in pain and vulnerable - someone after an accident, someone because of their chronic diseases, someone was just diligently following doctors' orders. Even the doctors were mostly unaware of addiction being the side effect of these medications.
Now they have to deal with addiction, and with a stigma. Please realize - it's not their fault, it's their pain. And now that it is realized opioids are not the answer - alternative means of dealing with pain, and psychological trauma caused by addiction, are necessary.
The very reason for our existence is to help with that. We know. We care. Come on over, we know how to help.

Sunlight Medical Services updated their phone number.
Yeah, we were laughing too. Until we remembered that there’s a lot of diseases where the transmitter doesn’t even notice them, but people susceptible to the disease are still vulnerable. Then we realized that the general confusion and contempt comes out of the fact that there is no clear answer to the question “When do I need this test in the first place?” Here’s when:
* I don’t feel good, and need to know whether I need to be concerned.
* I want my relatives of advanced age or in a risk group to stay healthy and need to know if I am a threat to them.
* I need to travel, they require test results.
* My employer requires me to provide test results to return to work.
The next question is - which of the tests is good for what?
* The rapid test (IgM/IgG) is for you and your family. If it is negative, likely nothing to worry about. If positive, you need to act. If IgM positive but IgG negative, you need to act fast.
* PCR - the rest. It is still unclear which agencies accept rapid test results for their purposes, so call first - rapid tests are faster and less expensive. We perform PCR tests, but call in advance for timing - they need to be sent to the lab. If you need them fast, call anyway, we’re actively gathering stats on where that can be done and will share that information.
There is one more rapid test - the antigen test, however, we don’t perform it because of the high amount of false negatives.
It appears that some of our callers are bounced to voicemail. If that happens to you, please call our backup number - (623) 562-0048.

The use of methadone is a gold standard in helping to treat individuals who currently suffer from opioid addiction. When examining the current impact of the pandemic, methadone users often struggled to receive adequate care to maintain their sobriety. Methadone clinics have proven to reduce overdoses, increase life expectancy, and work to allow for individuals to regain sense of life. However, regulations continue to cause individuals to go to great lengths to receive treatment, especially in a pandemic. While some states allowed for individuals to have a few take home medications to help with cravings, Arizona remains more stringent on practice. Here at Sunlight, we met with individuals on a one to one basis to determine if an individual can receive the benefit of a take home dose depending on the need to reduce contact with others.
