And thank you to Corey, our Regional Regional Director of Business Development, for his passion and hard work in making mental health a priority in the community.
Stark County Suicide Prevention Coalition

As we push to #elevatetheconversation and keep #StarkHOPE alive we also want to highlight our AWESOME coalition members. This work cannot happen without them. Meet Corey Odol! Corey was born and raised in Long Island New York. He then moved to Baltimore Maryland to pursue his degree in Bio-Psychology from University of Maryland Baltimore County. He is most known for his passion and skillset of business development in the healthcare arena with a focus on behavioral health. Some of his notable accomplishments have been the expansion of Medical Adult Day Services for Easter Seals in Baltimore and launching a new premier Medical Adult Day Center, increasing the amount of patients served by 50% for a behavioral health hospital in Washington DC, and being appointed by Washington D.C’s Mayor Bowser as a commissioner for healthcare transformations.
In the Spring of 2020 Corey was recruited by New Vista Health and Wellness to serve as the Regional Director of Business Development to expand its footprint in the NE Ohio region. He is excited to be a team member of the New Vista family and the healthcare community in Ohio.
Corey is excited that he recently joined the Coalition as he sees the importance of advocating for mental health, specifically suicide prevention. This is a topic that affects everyone no matter what your profession, background, or demographics. Corey says, “The more people that become a part of the coalition, the more we can educate the community. This coalition will educate and inform community members from various backgrounds, so we all know how to respond if the need arises. We need to make a movement that normalizes conversations at home and the workplace surrounding mental health and suicide prevention, signs and symptoms. Once it has been identified that someone is at risk for suicide we need to get them professional care as quickly as possible and support them through the journey of healing. “
Fun Fact about Corey: He is an Eagle Scout and has an affinity for camping
Corey’s Favorite quote: “If you always do what you always did….you will always get what you always got” – Albert Einstein
Corey encourages people to “Speak to your loved ones and do mental health checks for those that even appear ok on the outside….you never know when you may save a life.” #Lettheconversationbegin
