I feel so lucky to have found Sunset Animal Care when I moved to Ann Arbor. I am busy with long clinical rotations and always am able to rest assured that Ryan is taking Bodie out for me. Ryan is a very conscientious and reliable pet carer. He has been terrific with our cat -- I think he is a true animal lover, which is important in this line of work. I used Ryan for the first time in June and was extremely happy with his service. I do not reside at our home in Ann Arbor full time but when I travel there I like to bring our dog with us. Macey is very "high strung" and is stressed very easily. I love that I have found Ryan and Macey can be at a place she is familiar with. He is very professional and asks lots of questions when you first meet with him. Your pet and their comfort is his first priority. He sent pictures and checked in with me after visits. Ryan was very tuned in to our dog. Our dog is very often distrustful of strangers and had only a positive reaction when he met Ryan. Ryan was aware of our dog's issues and did several things to make the transition go smoothly. He came in as often as we needed and gave our dog the attention he wanted to feel comfortable while we were away. I think we were lucky to have found Ryan. It was an unexpected emergency and Ryan was willing to help us out. I recently adopted a wonderful rescue dog who has several health issues and is also very fearful of new people / situations. When I had to go out of town for a weekend and couldn't take her with me, I was very anxious about finding the proper care for her while I was gone. I was so happy to find Ryan on yelp. All of the other rave reviews are true. Ryan came over in advance to meet my dog and me, and I could tell right away that he would do a great job with her. He was very sensitive to her fear issues and approached her calmly. By the end of the visit, she was sitting comfortably and letting him pet her. Amazing! While we were gone, Ryan sent lots of pictures and kept me updated with texts and phone calls. He also patiently administered several medications and prepared her food as I requested.
I would highly recommend Ryan to anyone who has a dog that wouldn't do well in a boarding / kennel situation, or if you just want your dog go be able to enjoy the comforts of home while you're gone.
