Superior Fighting Academy was started in 2010 by a Davis Police Sergeant to give the general law enforcement community and their families an inexpensive place to train. Today it is one of the largest Martial Arts Centers in Northern California offering a state of the art 12,000 sft. facility, and extremely competent instructors (all are former or still competing athletes) training adults and children arts of Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Aikido, Karate, Combat Sambo, and Wrestling. Our mission is to provide our members with the training that would help them to develop the confidence and self-assurance to make the right choice.
Every month in the United States, three million children miss school due to fear of bullies. At SFA our goal is to instill in your child unshakable confidence so they can overcome bullies without violence. Studies suggest that bullying may be the leading cause of low self-esteem in children, and according to some surveys, less than 15% of kids actually report acts of bullying.
Our team of well qualified instructors will improve a child’s self-confidence and self-awareness, as well as keep them quick, agile, healthy and strong. Kids, no matter how big or small, learn how to use martial art techniques to their advantage to protect themselves from all kinds of punches, kicks, and holds. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Wrestling
BJJ is a martial art, combat sport, and a self-defense system that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting. BJJ teaches that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using leverage and proper technique.
Muay Thai
Muay Thai is a combat sport from Thailand that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques. Muay Thai is referred to as the "Art of Eight Limbs" or the "Science Of Eight Limbs" because it makes use of punches, kicks, elbows and knee strikes.
