Today's Dickinson DSP shout-out of the day goes to Kristin Morel. She is a veteran staff who is always willing to put in the extra mile. From coordinating a SSI community garden to finding unique activities for the people she serves to wearing bleach clothes to assist in deep cleaning homes, she is always ready to tackle any task with a smiling face! She truly cares for the people she supports and her staff. She is a great supervisor and asset to the entire Dickinson crew!

Today’s DSP shout out for Dickinson is Mariah Jurgens. Her kindness in helping out her co-workers and her dedication to the people we support is amazing! She is always willing to go the extra mile and lend a helping hand in any situation and is an inspiration to those around her. Whether working on craft projects, cooking, working on milestones, or supporting people in the community, Mariah always shows her giving sprit to everyone around her. We are blessed to have her on our team!

We are looking for a motivated individual to fulfill our Training Specialist position located in Grand Forks, ND. The Training Specialist will serve as a leader and mentor to all employees, assuring that each employee has the skills and training to carry out the best possible support to people in services. This position requires flexibility in scheduling to be available to teach training classes for staff who are working evening and weekend hours. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Mentor new and current team members through positive feedback and coaching. • Employees will meet all training requirements for their assigned positions and will have adequate opportunities and support to complete required training components. • Responsible for overseeing newly hired direct support professionals and Supervisors through the orientation process. • Facilitate required training opportunities to assure that licensing and accreditation standards are met for all direct support professionals and supervisory staff. • Assure that requirements are met for delegated trainer certifications and maintain all current training requirements. • Complete all documentation accurately and within designated time lines. • Other duties as assigned. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Qualifications: BS or BA degree required. Education major preferred. Minimum of two years experience in the Developmental Disabilities field. Completion of DD Certification requirements as directed by Minot State University.
