This week we would like to honor Linda Spencer as our PAST EMPLOYEE of the WEEK!!! Linda began working at Swan Floral on February 1, 1999 as a sales clerk. She eventually moved from her sales clerk position to a floral designer where she continued to arrange flowers, working a total of 21 years at Swan Florist! Linda retired from Swan Floral last March when the pandemic started. Today you will find Linda continuing to do what she enjoys in her free time: cooking, painting, watching football especially the KC Chiefs and keeping up with her cat.

One of Linda’s favorite memories of working at Swan Florist was being able to work with Janel and Dave. Linda liked going into the greenhouses during the summer to look at all the beautiful plants that had bloomed. Another fun memory was working with Chester the cat!

This week we would like to honor Kyle Jones as our CURRENT EMPLOYEE of the WEEK!!! Kyle began working at Swan Floral on March 22, 1997 as a driver. He has been with us for 24 years! Today, you will find Kyle continuing to deliver smiles to our customers. You might have also seen Kyle doing one of his favorite things when he is not working which is singing. He has done lots of shows singing Elvis songs and sharing his amazing voice with everyone. Kyle is now retired from singing.

This week we would like to honor Jack Hall as our PAST EMPLOYEE of the WEEK!!!
Jack began working at Swan Floral in 1958 as a floral designer. He continued to work for us off and on until 2007 for a total of 49 years!!!
Today you will find Jack continuing to do what he enjoys in his free time: fishing, reading, socializing and dancing.

Jack’s favorite flower: Roses and he raised rose bushes too!
Jack has 3 children, Renee, Jay and Nicole. They have blessed him with 5 grandchildren!
One of Jack’s favorite memories of working at Swan Florist was everything! Jack still has dreams about working at Swan and he truly loved his job. Jack and Albert Schreiver III became lifelong friends.
Jack saw the generation changes and enjoyed watching Albert III’s children grow up and get married.
“Albert was good to me. I feel like I’m a part of the Schreiver family as the uncle they never had. I just truly loved working at Swan!” – Jack H.
This week we would like to honor Jim Kiger AS OUR CURRENT EMPLOYEE OF THE WEEK! Jim has worked at Swan Floral for 61 years. He started helping Boo and Pop Schreiver after school with the flowers and anything else they needed in the greenhouse or delivering flowers. Today you will find him at the shop helping us on Saturdays and Holidays.

Jim is married to Angie and they have a son named Jay.
Jim is a member of the Knights of St. John and the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War
One of Jim’s favorite memories of working at the Swan was when Buddy took all the employees to the Shrine Circus.
Jim also has enjoyed witnessing the generation changes at the Swan over 61 years!
