Synergy Family: We, at Synergy, are generally eternally optimistic and positive in our outlook and the care we provide, but the cuts Medicare plans to implement on January 1st are a real threat to quality care in the Physical Therapy field. Since opening 9 years ago, we have had several cuts in reimbursement from Medicare we are expected to just absorb and carry on completing more and more paperwork while abiding by the strictest regulations of any insurer. The 9% cut that is to take place on January 1 will equal nearly a 1/3 cut in the reimbursement provided for PT services compared to 10 years ago. All the while, PT services have been comparatively one of the lowest reimbursements for professionals in the medical field to begin with. Many clinics may have to start turning away Medicare patients, and others simply will not survive another cut after the year we have had with coronavirus. I am pleased to say, we will endure at Synergy and find ways to continue to provide exceptional care, but if you value quality PT services and want to see your care provided through Medicare continue to cover PT services for years to come, click on the APTA link to send a letter to your representatives. The WebPT link explains the problem in more detail. Rest assured, we are here for you, but this threat to our profession is unprecedented.
