It is so very important, now more than ever that you cover your mouth and nose with a mask when around others. • You could spread COVID-19 to others even if you do not feel sick. • The mask is meant to protect other people in case you are infected. • Everyone should wear a mask in public settings and when around people who don’t live in your household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain. Masks should not be placed on young children under age 2, anyone who has trouble breathing, or is unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance. Do NOT use a mask meant for a healthcare worker. Currently, surgical masks and N95 respirators are critical supplies that should be reserved for healthcare workers and other first responders. Continue to keep about 6 feet between yourself and others, as the mask is not a substitute for social distancing.
It's National Respiratory Care Week and we are celebrating the TRH Respiratory Care Team! Respiratory therapists work under the direction of doctors and treat a range of patients, from premature infants whose lungs are not fully developed to elderly people with lung disease. They give patients oxygen, manage ventilators, and administer drugs to the lungs. We are thankful for our talented team of respiratory therapists - please join us in thanking them for all they do for our patients!
Every year, during the last week of October, we celebrate the important role that facility team members have in ensuring a safe and efficient environment for all patients, visitors and staff within our hospital. Please join us in thanking the TRH Plant Operations Team for all they do!
Handwashing is one of the best ways to protect yourself and your family from getting sick. Learn when and how you should wash your hands to stay healthy. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. It’s especially important to wash: o Before eating or preparing food o Before touching your face o After using the restroom o After leaving a public place o After blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing o After handling your mask o After changing a diaper o After caring for someone sick o After touching animals or pets If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Stay healthy this holiday season by cleaning frequently touched surfaces in your home on a daily basis, including door knobs and light switches. 💡 If dirty, clean with soap and water first, followed by a household disinfectant.
Just a friendly reminder that scheduling care before December 31st may save you money! If you've met your deductible or have unused FSA dollars, it's a good idea to schedule your care now. Make an appointment today for the things you may have put off this year, such as: * Annual physical * Joint replacement * Imaging * Women's care (hysterectomy) * Screenings (colonoscopy, heart, lung, mammography.) Use your FSA money to pay for qualified medical care not covered by your health plan. And if you have met your deductible you may only have to pay a copay for a visit.

An important announcement about the COVID-19 vaccine for those aged 70 and older: Please be advised that over the course of the next three weeks, the Lake Cumberland District Health Department will be receiving 4000 doses of 1st/prime dose COVID-19 vaccine for those aged 70 and up. We encourage everyone in this age group to register with the Health Department (the instructions are outlined on their website and social media pages). Currently, Taylor Regional Hospital has not received any additional vaccine for those aged 70 and up. If we do receive vaccine for this use, we will begin to contact those who have added their name to our waiting list; however, we do not know when or if we will receive additional vaccine. Therefore, it is important for all who are aged 70 and up to register with the Taylor County Health Department. If you receive your vaccine at the Taylor County Health Department or elsewhere, you do not have to contact us to have your name removed from the list.
Our top priority is to provide the outstanding care our patients deserve. http://vlsm.io/2r0I
