Before having a child of our own, we wanted to make sure we could take care of something without killing it. We both love dogs, so we figured we would try a dog first.
.
A lot of time was spent researching different breeds. We wanted a dog that was small enough to travel, but big enough to go on runs/hikes. Turns out the terrier breed fits perfectly into that category.
.
I liked wirehair fox terriers because they have "beards" but Valary did not want a dog with a beard soooo....we went with the beardless version. Waylon is a Smooth Fox Terrier.
.
He is coming up on six years and our fur baby happy healty dog. Who knows, maybe it will be time to have a human child in our near future...

This was our first trip to Bakersfield with the little guy. Turns out he is a great road tripper!
@valaryjennings loves this little guy so much. When we first got him, he would wiggle out of her hugs. Now, when he wakes up he walks directly to her and "asks" for a hug.
Through persistence and love, she won over both Waylon and me.🥰
