What is the best book you have ever read?
The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. I remember being younger and finding that book in my dad’s toolbox. I took it without asking and ending up spending the next few days with my nose buried in it. I read it once a year now.
Where would you like to travel?
Outer space. The ultimate introvert’s paradise. I can only imagine what it would be like to stare down at Earth and reflect on it. Since space travel is a little out of my price range, I would gladly settle for Australia or Greece.
What is one thing you can’t live without?
Laughter. Hands down. Laughter can make any situation better. There is not a day I don’t go without laughing or making someone laugh. If it comes to it, I will tell myself a joke just to have a chuckle. Laughter is by far the best medicine, other than, you know, medicine.

What was the best concert you’ve attended?
A: It was when I went to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra perform in Jacksonville five years ago. A friend and I went and it was mind blowing! Their show contained so much in the way of extravagant stage lighting and decorations which kept changing throughout the entire performance. It was definitely an experience I will never forget.
What is the best book you have ever read?
A: “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee is the best book I have ever read. I read this book and feel transported back in time. Also, I find Boo Radley’s character very eerie no matter how many times I read this book!
What do you like to do in your free time?
A: In my free time I like to run. I have been running for recreational purposes for more than half of my life. I am currently training for my first marathon. I am very excited for this new challenge!

What music is on your phone?
I love music so this is really fun for me. I’m going to list the music that is on my Spotify liked radio: Radiohead, Weezer, Panic! At the disco, Twenty one Pilots, Ok Go, Saint Motel, Portshead, Cat Power, Eden, Dodie, Yo La Tengo, Green Day, Gorilaz, My Chemical Romance, Blur, Queen, Belle and Sebastian, Oasis, Smashing Pumpkins, Pixies, The Smiths. Also, my husband got me a little into some heavier music like System of a Down, Minor Threat and Ghost. I also like some classical music and some Brazilian music.
What are you watching right now?
I’ve been watching some episodes of Grand Designs on Netflix. It is a British show about some amazing houses. They are not necessarily big houses, just unique and “out of the box thinking” kind of homes. If you are like me, you’ll need subtitles for the British English. I must mention two shows that are amazing on Netflix, Samurai Gourmet and Marvels Agents of Shields.
What food do you wish had zero calories?
I’m with John Srour on this one. Rice! As a Japanese descendant, I eat rice with almost every meal. Cannot live without it.

What music is on your phone?
I’m a big Spotify user and this year I’m interested in finding new artists that I typically don’t listen to. In my current “new artist” playlist I have: Blood Orange, Piig Biig, Tierra Whack, Brockhampton, Kevin Abstract, Dominic Fike, ODIE. My favorite artist is Frank Ocean, he is so talented and I could just play the “This is: Frank Ocean” playlist on Spotify nonstop. If you have a current favorite new artist let me know!
What is the weirdest job you’ve ever had?
I worked at my local county Law Library in High School. Besides helping lawyers look up cases or Florida statues I also made copies for divorce applications and people would come in to purchase them. Not the greatest feeling and after that I was no longer interested in becoming a lawyer.

- What is the best book you have ever read?
It’s hard to pick but “Alas Babylon” by Pat Frank is one at the top of my list that I will never forget. I read this book in middle school when I lived in Orlando. It really impacted my love of reading. It was about a Nuclear Explosion happening near the Orlando airport. It was crazy reading how people had to survive and find uncontaminated food and even bury their gold jewelry due to radiation poisoning. The book definitely keeps you on your toes!
- What is one thing you can’t live without?
My family. They keep me happy, strong, creative and motivated.
- What are you passionate about?
Passionate about learning and growing.
- What is your favorite thing to do in SWFL?
Explore! Two years ago I started exploring our local nature trails and it’s been really revitalizing and grounding for me to get out there and be surrounded by Nature doing its thing.
