Today is Mark’s 46th birthday. I want to show you what our celebrations are like these days.
We pretty much had the same exact dinner except we bought cowboy steaks. Mark requested Rosette's Mix cinnamon rolls. The boys wanted a peanut butter pie that I make so we had both of those.
The key is to get out of the old routines and make new traditions. When I first started out in my journey I just looked to get through each day. I never asked what will I have for a birthday cake. There are lots and lots of options. Options that will keep you in ketosis and not (hopefully) create cravings. This is also why you have to get some time under your belt before indulging in these types of things. Mark and I went 11 months straight on keto then carnivore before we had any keto treats.
Everyone is different. I’m just trying to give you different perspectives and tips. I NEVER EVER thought I would be able to say no to all the sugar and sweets but here I am 20 months later killing it!!! You have to get past the hunger and cravings to have control over food. Not letting the food control you.
Please do not give up. You can do this. Keep trying!!
Shout out to Rosette for making easy mixes that you can put together for such times. Also I couldn’t figure out how to roll the dough so I basically made cinnamon bars 🤦♀️ but they were good. Go to her website under “mix it up” and you’ll find lots of versatile ways to use her mixes.

Some highs and lows this week.
First a 41 year old patient that has been gaslighted by her female GYN. This got me good so brace yourself. This woman finally got brave enough to talk to her female GYN about her nonexistent sex drive. She was embarrassed and it took her awhile to be able to talk about it to her trusted professional and her GYN told her........................”you just need better lingerie”. 😳🤦♀️😩😡😡😡😡 Thats the advice she gave my patient. How it the world will “better lingerie” help my female patient with libido?? This is insanity, meanness, laziness and rude. When asked if the GYN would test her hormones the GYN explained “you’re to young to have hormone problems”. 🙄🤯
Don’t worry Ms. GYN, I got your patient covered. I’ll pick up your slack. Disgraceful. Shameful.
I am attaching two texts and an email from patients from yesterday. This made my day and made me do the 💃💃💃
I have many 70 year olds in my practice but I have 2 particular couples in their 70’s. One woman says she is going to write a book about sex after 70. She said to me “honey, you have no idea how much Sex is happening”. Dear Heavenly Father, I love my job!!!! Praise your name. This is fun.
Your life, especially your sex life, doesn’t have to end as you age. Sex is a very important part of your relationship. Don’t let ignorant providers tell you differently. Keep searching for someone to help you. ❤️❤️❤️

My disdain of statins is no secret. These providers that say statins need to be in the drinking water are literally insane. This class of drugs will be one of the biggest scams of my lifetime.
Statins wreak havoc on the body. Personally I think they’re extremely dangerous. The data does not support them, especially in primary prevention. Primary prevention means because you have high cholesterol. There is some data, albeit weak, for secondary prevention. Secondary means for people you have had some sort of cardiac event.
If your provider wants you to go on statins, just because you have high cholesterol, here are a few things to ask:
1. Ask to get a CAC score (coronary artery calcium score). Mercy hospital does it and Baxter Hospital in Mountain Home, Arkansas does too for those of you local. If your score is zero or less than 100, like mine, discussion over. Mine is 98 and Mark’s is 11. Mine is that high because I am a sugar addict and followed the food pyramid (standard American diet) my whole life. This is currently being reversed.
2. Ask your provider what will happen to your sex hormones on statins, especially men. Of my male patients, I have about 8 men on statins and only 2 of them do not have actual low testosterone.
3. Ask about the neurological problems that come with them like Lou Gehrig’s disease, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s. Do we have an epidemic of Alzheimer’s because of our love of statins?
4. Ask them the consequences of messing up the mevalonate pathway.
5. Ask them how long your life will be extended by taking a statin and risking your health
6. Ask them to provide the study that shows cholesterol and LDL are causing heart disease. (There isn’t one)
7. If you’re a diabetic you absolutely shouldn’t be on a statin because they instantly cause diabetes. Ask your provider their logic for that.
8. Your provider should be way more interested in you having low triglycerides and high HDL than they should anything else.

6. The FB group Statins-The Silent Killer! They have lots of good studies in their files section.
Start here and you’ll find so much more. There are studies showing harm when we lower cholesterol and LDL too much. It is just a money making scheme. Don’t fall for it or at least look into them before you decide.

Here is meal prep for 3 kids 5 and under. One in kindergarten and 2 in daycare. This is from Krystena, who used to work at my office. Do you know she had to get a letter from her kids provider to be able to bring in her own food to daycare!!??😳
She was tired of the goldfish, chocolate chip muffins, bananas and worse being given to her kids at school. It’s just sugar. All of it. We don’t realize how much sugar we all get.
Is this hard? Yes. Is it annoying sometimes? Yes. Does it get old fighting this fight? Yes. Is it inconvenient? Yes. But we still have to do it. You know what else is inconvenient? Taking your kids to doctors appointments and filling prescriptions for ADD every month after the school tells you to because of the way kids act at school. What if........most of the ADD cases are food issues 🤔
Don’t give up. Start teaching your kids now about health and wellness and how to achieve it. ❤️❤️

Does everyone understand this? If not listen up. Don’t force your kids to finish their juice for health. It’s wrecking their health and spiking their sugar. Don’t give them juice and send them to school to learn.
Most of us parents would rarely give our kids dessert for breakfast, but know the breakfast foods you’re giving, including juice, is dessert. I would bet for some it’s a larger sugar spike than a straight candy bar or donut.
And if you’re a diabetic you definitely CANNOT have this. This isn’t a good idea to use even with dropping blood sugars. There are much better and steady ways to combat low sugars.

No Tuesday trivia since it’s thanksgiving week. Here are food pics from the last several weeks. Pretty much the same thing every week.
Burgers most nights except Tuesday. Tuesday we have time constraints so we have chicken wings, leftovers, or meat and cheese. We have steak 2 days a week. We have Braum’s on Fridays. Mark and I get the bag of burgers 5/$5. The boys get a full meal with fries and a milkshake.
I am still mostly eating OMAD, one meal a day. Some days I will eat lunch in the office. Lunch of meat and cheese. I’d rather you have deli meat or a hot dog then a sandwich, chips, and a soda. With meat and cheese absolutely nothing will happen to your blood sugar. A sandwich, chips, and soda will spike it very high.
You don’t have to do what I do but you do have to be mindful of what food does to your blood sugar and you should be mindful of how you feel after you eat. We only have one body. Let’s treat it with care. Don’t wait to change until you’re in a medical crisis. That is not a good place to start.

Isn’t it crazy that most of the modern disease is a consequence of the food we have been told to eat. Super duper crazy!!
Isn’t it also crazy that we’ve all been secretly addicted to these food like products making us sick? Don’t fool yourself on it being an accident. The tobacco industry took over the processed food companies in the 1980’s, after tobacco’s scam was up and they were no longer allowed to advertise. They didn’t care. They had plenty of people addicted to tobacco. Now they just went over to processed foods.
How does this make you feel? How are you doing trying to give up addiction? Do you believe in food addiction? How many drug addicts (cocaine, heroine, or meth) do you know that found it easy to give up their drug of choice? What about smokers or alcoholics, do you know any of them that said it was a breeze to break? Some, yes, but most find it difficult.
Keep at it, I believe in you. It can be difficult but it’s not impossible. ❤️❤️

I saw this on social media. Of course everyone looks at this as “healthy”. I look at it and see a huuuggeeee sugar spike. This meal has so much sugar it has my addict brain activated. Plus it just looks so pretty.
I would love to see some eat this while wearing a CGM (continuous glucose monitor). I’m very interested in a non diabetic as well as a diabetic reading. Very. Interested.
