First constructed for the 1964 World’s Fair, Terrace On The Park has been a part of the life of New York for more than a half century, visited by every New York Mayor, along with presidents, prime ministers and monarchs – as well as the Beatles, who landed on the Rooftop heliport when they made their US debut at Shea Stadium in 1965. Terrace On The Park, has just completed a major five year facilities initiative, encompassing an extensive range of structural upgrades, renovations, and state-of-the-art technical enhancements. The $9 million improvements program is the largest in the history of this registered landmark, which has served as the city’s most recognizable special events venue for more than two generations.
