Dr. Tetsuo Ashizawa is a board-certified neurologist that has been taking care of patients with inherited neurodegenerative disorders. He is known as a world-class expert and leader on ataxia, myotonic dystrophy and Huntington™s disease. He has initiated clinics specialized in clinical research of these diseases at Baylor College of Medicine, UTMB and University of Florida. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed original papers on basic and clinical research. He is leading international ataxia clinical research projects, such as NIH-funded READISCA, and is a co-founder of SCA-Global.
